Henry Fersko-Weiss, LCSW, worked in hospice for many years and created the first U.S. end-of-life doula program at Continuum Hospice in New York City in 2003. He co-founded the International End of Life Doula Association and served as Executive Director until semi-retiring at the end of 2021. Henry wrote the book Caring for the Dying, The Doula Approach to a Meaningful Death, which was voted one of the five best healthcare books of 2017 by the Library Journal. Reprinted with new material as Finding Peace at the End of Life, it has been published in the U.K., Germany, Italy and Japan.
